The signature is like a fingerprint – so personal and valuable.
I ‘ve chosen to use the initial of my first name together with my last name and I paint it in a way that recalls the personal red stamps found on Japanese and Chinese artworks, as a tribute to the Art of Miniature which has a really strong tradition in Asia.

I’ve now settled into my fall routine, even though the sun is shining warmly here and there isn’t a single rain cloud in sight.
This week I’ve spent my time on a tiny 4×4 cm painting depicting a river flowing through the forest—heading toward the sun, toward the light.
When I paint forests with deciduous trees, I use the dot technique with different shades to bring depth and life to the painting.

After a long summer with my family in Sweden, I’m now back in my studio in southern Europe.
For five weeks, I haven’t even unpacked my paints and brushes – it’s been many years since I took such a long vacation, and that’s mainly due to a lack of time. I suppose that sounds strange – you’re supposed to have all the time in the world during vacation, but my parents live in the Swedish countryside and during the month of August apples need to be harvested, carrots and potatoes need to be chopped up, beans need to be frozen, and onions need to be hung out to dry… and I love it!
The break from painting has actually been good for me – the stress I felt from upcoming projects is completely gone. Now I feel energized by inspiration and enthusiasm for the work ahead this fall.

Every year I think: “This is the hottest summer I’ve ever experienced”… I don’t know if that’s true, if I have a hard time remembering or if – as I get older – I just can’t handle the heat the same way anymore… but this is the hottest summer I’ve ever experienced!
In any case, this early summer has also been the most productive I’ve had in a long time – several new projects have come up, including two more exhibitions in Tokyo in late summer/fall and I’ve also been invited to exhibit at the world’s largest miniature exhibition, organized by the Miniature Art Society of Florida. It really feels amazing!
So… even though I’m close to my breaking point, I’m filled with hope and joy!

Summer has burst into my life, which means heat, dry grass, panting dogs and disrupted routines.
This summer, I’ll be participating in three group exhibitions:
* Tokyo (Japan) – Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum – June 16–21.
* Lädja (Sweden) – “Berg Week” – June 27–July 5.
* Luanco (northern Spain) – Acuña Gallery – June 26–July 30.
… and then I’m off to my parents house in the swedish countryside for vacation!
