16-21 May: Tokyo Metropolitan Art Musem – Japan
27 June – 5 July: Gamla Skolan i Lädja – Sweden
26 June – 30 July: Acuña Gallery in Luanco – Spain
All three of these are group exhibitions where I have the opportunity to share the experience with other artists – some of whom I know, and some I’m meeting for the first time.
There may be more exhibitions in Japan later this summer and early fall. I’ll keep you updated.
My “FEEL-GOOD POESTRY BOOK” is now available. It contains breaf thoughts and reflections on life in general and miniature painting in particular.
It’s a book meant for slow reading—the perfect book for unwinding in a stressful time.
Thousand and One Cranes – now this year’s “Crane of Cranes” is finished and there are really 1.000 small cranes making 1 big.
The story behind this artwork is as follows:
So many people, young and old, feel a hopelessness about the future and they say “It doesn’t matter what I do… a drop in the ocean…”
…but without drops there will be no ocean!
Every little act matters, every little grain of sand, every little smile,…
…and every crane matters. Together.
“Every Tiny I paint is a love letter to Nature. A way to hold on to something that is in constant change, so perfect and magical, vital but also so fragile that it needs each of us to care. I create a small peephole to the beauty that surrounds us with the hope of drawing attention to the small details that make Life so big.”
All watercolor paintings are painted loyal to the traditional technique with the paper as the only white and the water as the only light – all with brush.
